A car crashed in Route killed a man and injured a teenager in Absecon, New Jersey. This is now the subject of a police investigation.
According to police report, a teenage driver from Galloway Twp. was operating his vehicle along Route 30 near Haddon Avenue at about 6:48 oclock Sunday evening. As he was driving, he told investigators that a 57-year-old male pedestrian ran in front towards the traffic attempting to cross the road.
The man was hit by the car and later died at the scene. Up to this time, he was not yet identified.
The young driver was delivered to the Atlanticare Regional Medical Center-of of Mainland Campus sustaining minor injuries.
Due to the mishap, eastbound White Horse Pike was closed for traffic but it was reopened after two hours.
Police continued investigating the crash to determine the cause.
It followed a fatal accident happening one night ago on?Route 30. Last Saturday, at about 10:00 oclock in the evening, one victim was killed and another injured after their vehicle hit a barrier and overturned.
The person was killed and another sustained injuries after their vehicle struck a barrier and overturned south of the New Jersey roadway.
The police continue investigating what caused the crash that occurred at around 10:05 oclock Saturday evening on Route 30 near Absecon. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Authorities reported that the operator of the car was ejected from the vehicle and expired at the scene. One passenger was injured passenger and delivered to a local hospital, but no added detail on his condition was revealed. Not even the names of the fatality and injured were given to the media.
Due to the accident, the eastward lanes of the highway were closed for around seven hours as the police conducted their prelim investigated and cleared the scene.
May 2nd provided another scene of disaster when two people were treated for injuries at the Emergency Medical Services of Lancaster following a three-vehicle accident on eastbound Route along 340 off-ramps.
The collision took place a little before 1:30 oclock in the evening that involved three vehicles – a pick-up truck, a small sedan and a van.
The van from North Carolina was transporting a church group who had just attended a seminar in Hershey.
The fire companies of Lafayette and Witmer immediately responded to the scene. The East Lampeter Police is investigating the accident.
In Pennsylvania, U.S. Route 30 transverses the west of the southern part of the state. Vehicles are passing through Pittsburgh and Philadelphia on its way from the West Virginia state line east to the Benjamin Franklin Bridge over the Delaware River into New Jersey.
