Honeybrook, Pa. – At least one woman was killed in a deadly accident along Route 322. The police filed charges against the driver of a deadly accident that claimed the life of one senior.
The tragic wreck took place around 10:50 o’clock Wednesday morning at the intersection of Chestnut Tree Road and Route 322 along Honey Brook in Chester County.
The fatality was identified as Diana Weaver, age 70 and a resident of West Chester. She died killed when a car and a pickup truck collided at Route 322.
The police arrested Kenneth Haldeman, age 51 who was allegedly driving his pick-up truck under the influence that might have led to the accident.
After he was arrested, Haldeman was charged with homicide by vehicle and DUI.
According to the police; they are continuing their investigation of the case but already arrested the male driver who is in his 50’s. Among several charges filed against him are: homicide by car and DUI. Alcohol was considered one of the basic factors relevant to the cause of fatal crash last Wednesday.
Police report stated that said the suspect, identified as Honey Brook resident Kenneth Haldeman who was driving his Ford 1989 Ranger when he crashed head on with another car at approximately 10:50 o’clock Wednesday morning on Route 322. The operator of the second vehicle was 70-year-old Diana Weaver of West Chester, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck of Haldeman truck crossed the center line of the road and crashed head on with Weaver’s vehicle.
The state police found marijuana and heroin in the possession of Haldeman and after taking the BAC, he was found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Police stated that Haldeman was arraigned and charged with homicide by vehicle, DUI and related charges. He was confined in Chester County Prison after he failed to post $250,000 cash bail.
Police confirmed the death of 70-years-old Diana Weaver, resident of West Chester, after her car crashed at around 11:00 o’clock Wednesday morning along Route 322, about seven miles south of Morgantown. They have arrested the driver responsible o for the crash. Kenneth Haldeman Jr. was operating his pickup truck west on Route 322 when he swerved into the eastbound lane and collided with the victim’s car. Haldeman was driving under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the crash.
Among the serious charges filed are: (1) homicide by vehicle; (2) while driving under the influence; (3) DUI; (4) reckless driving; (5) careless driving; and (6) other related offenses. Confined at the County Prison of Chester County for he was unable to file a $250,000 bail.
The police are requesting witnesses to come forward and provide more information to the incident.
