Northeast Philadelphia – As the days of January is moving forward, road accidents continue to happen along the way. Last Tuesday evening, a pedestrian was hit who later died on her way to a mall in NE Philadelphia. The tragedy took place at around 6:00 o’clock in the evening near Academy Road at Block 12000 of Knight Road.
Police identified the victim as a woman, age 74, who was run over by a vehicle while trying to cross the street along the vicinity of Franklin Miss Mall. The driver stopped at the scene. The victim was transported to the Aria Hospital of Torresdale Division where she later succumbed a few minutes after admission.
Investigation is ongoing.

A mother from Northeast Philadelphia is frantically searching for the whereabouts of the driver that almost killed her teenage son in a hit-and-run tragedy April of last year.
Dorothy Robbins who is the victim’s mom narrated that her son, 17-year-old David Silva was like any American teen with a girlfriend who loved being alive and was hoping to become a professional BMX bike rider. He could perform lots of amazing tricks with his bike.
But all these things turned to nothing in the evening of April 3, 2012.
Robbins said that she was surprised why her son did not answer her phone so she started to feel worried. David always answered her calls but not this day. Then the cops came bearing the sad news.
According to the police, at about 10:15 that evening, David was biking along Tyson Avenue in the Tacony section’s Ditman Street when he was struck from the rear by a vehicle. Critically injured, he was immediately transported to the Area Hospital.
Robbins was told by the medical staff that her some had brain injuries. They will have to perform surgeries and had to drain the fluid out his brain; but they are not sure he will survive.
David was able to survive the ordeal but sustained brain injury but was released from the hospital after four months. The doctors were pleased with David’s progress as he is now starting to communicate with the people around him.
Now that David is on the road to recovery, his mother’s attention is now focused on finding the culprit. She said that she will not stop her efforts until the hit-and-run driver is placed behind bars.
The Citizens Crime Commission is announcing a $1,000 reward for anyone who can help in apprehending this reckless driver. All information will be treated with confidence.

Northeast Philadelphia – At least two people were injured after an accident which occurred at 8:10 o’clock in the evening near Knights Road at Woodhaven. It was a two-vehicle collision.
Two injured people were transported to the nearby Aria Hospital Torresdale Division after sustaining non-life threatening injuries.
Due to the mishap, traffic was limited only to the use of two lanes along the shoulder of the road as investigation was conducted.

Northeast Philadelphia – An officer of Philly police who was riding a bike was struck by a car but he is now recovering from the accident.
The crash took place at around 11:40 o’clock on a morning of Wednesday on Cottman Avenue when he was hit by a Lexus that was negotiating a right turn from Cottman going into Bustleton Avenue.
The motorist fled from the scene.
The officer, sustaining a knee injury, was delivered to the Aria Health Center of theTorresdale Division where was listed in stable condition.
The hit-and-run Lexus driver was apprehended by the police later at the corner of Castor and Longshore Avenues.
An investigation is ongoing.

Northeast Philadelphia -Police are investigating a crash which happened along the vicinity of Franklin Mills Boulevard at Woodhaven Road. The deadly mishap happened at around 4:30 o’clock in the morning.
Police reported that a female driver, age 25, for unknown reasons lost control of her car and collided with a guardrail at the eastbound side. The impact caused the vehicle to turn over trapping the driver.
Fire fighters extricated the woman from the car and immediately rushed her to the Aria Hospital of Torresdale Division. But a few minutes after admittance, she was pronounced dead.
