It was another case of a hit and run crash which happened last night. At least one man from Dover was left for dead on the road by a driver who does not have any compassionate for others.
The fatality was identified by the State police as Curt Burns, 38-years –old. At about 8:00 o’clock in the evening, Burns was trying to cross Route 13 southbound lanes at South Governors Avenue.
A Route 13 southbound vehicle hit him and the impact sent him to the shoulder of the road. The driver did not stop but hurriedly fled the scene.
The victim was rushed to the General Hospital of Kent when he expired. The police are on the look-out for the driver of the errant vehicle. The police learned that the 38-years-old man was about to cross the street when he was struck by a vehicle.
Investigation is ongoing and the police are confident that the driver will be arrested very soon.

Pa State police reported that a woman died after a head-on collision last Tuesday in Millersburg. The mishap occurred at about 11:00 o’clock in the morning along Route 147 within the intersection of Millersburg and Engle Rissinger in Halifax Township. It was a two vehicle crash involving a full-sized pickup and a mid-sized SUV, the police clarified.
State police, Trooper Robert Hicks, stated that the operators of both vehicles, male and female driver sustained life-threatening injuries after the crash. The woman driver of the SUV, later died in the area hospital from critical injuries.
The police are not making public identities of the victims pending notifications to their nearest kin.
Due to the collision, Route 147 was closed for traffic until about 1:00 in the afternoon.
On the same date, another person died from a single vehicle accident on Interstate 70 near Pecktonville in Washington County Tuesday morning.
Maryland State Police say an Audi passenger car operated by Dallas Lee Miller, 22, of New Holland, Pennsylvania was traveling westbound on I-70. Miller lost control of his vehicle which entered the center median, striking a tree. He was partially ejected.
Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.
At about 8:53 o’clock in the morning, the police, fire and rescue teams responded to a call of a car on fire at the center median of I-70. A State Police flight paramedic who was off-duty was called by two citizens to help them rescue Miller from the burning vehicle.
Senior Trooper Andre Butler is asking witnesses to come forward for more information as investigation of the crash is continuing.

Young lives were claimed by road crashes this weekend where teenagers were constrained to leave this world way before their time.
Three mishaps took places in three places: the first happened Pennsauken, the second took place in Chester County and the third in Philadelphia. There were also around five young people injured.
It was shortly after 9:00 o’clock in the evening of Saturday when the first accident happened. The impact of the crash caused a boy of 15, to be thrown from the back seat of the overturned vehicle on Route 73 in Pennsauken
Authorities will release identity of fatality after informing nearest relative.
There were three other teenagers inside the vehicle who sustained non-life threatening injuries. They were delivered to the local hospital for treatment.
The second accident occurred at around 4:00 o’clock Sunday morning when a teenage girl died in a one-car crash in the vicinity of Philly’s Bustleton section. The19-year-old male operator of a Ford Explorer lost control as he was driving on top speed on Grand Avenue. He crashed into a tree at Krewstown Road.
The driver was delivered to an area hospital in serious condition.
Police said that the third crash happened after two hours. A little about 6:15 in the morning, Kristen Felkowski, age 18 and residing in Wilmington, when she was not able to control her BMW while negotiating a curve near Burnt Mill Road along Old Kennett Road in Twp. where she hit a tree. She dies on the scene.
Her 16-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries but survived, police said Investigation regarding the cause of the crash is ongoing.
