A little after 2:30 o’clock in the morning, firefighters responded to a call at the 2500 block of South 71st Street where they found flames shooting from the first floor of the residence.

Firefighters quickly went to work battling the flames and even called in extra manpower as the fire was spreading to other areas of the house; throughout all the other rooms and even going to the upper floors.
