PHILADELPHIA – August 3, 2012 (WPVI) – Two lawsuits are awaiting the alledged drunken driver responsible in the death of a Philadelphia police officer. This was revealed by his widow.
Officer Brian Lorenzo was killed in a head-on collision as he rode his motorcycle home at the end of his shift nearly three weeks ago on Interstate 95.
The suspect, John Leck of Levittown was recipient of one of the lawsuits. Police discovered that Leck’s blood alcohol level was 218, nearly three times the legal limit.
Linda, Lorenzo’s widow, said that Leck is responsible for robbing her family of the main anchor.
She said that her husband was a good man, he was a father, husband and policeman. He was the world to his family and his loss was really hand for them.

Investigators learned that Leck was drinking at a T.G.I. Friday’s in Bensalem that day..
A second lawsuit against T.G.I.Friday was filed on Thursday by Linda Lorenzo. She said that the restaurant continued to serve Leck liquor when he was already visibly intoxicated.
T.G.I. Friday’s spokesperson said that they sympathized with the loss of the Lorenzo family, but made no comment while the case was in litigation.
That Friday, family, friends, colleagues, city officials and even strangers congregated at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. They offered prayers and expressed their thanks for Officer Lorenzo.
Linda, his widow, was grateful for their prayers and sympathy..
She said that everyone has been standing by her during this crisis which helps her to accept the tragedy.
Archbishop Charles Chaput who presided over the service, also prayed for healing and peace.
Mayor Michael Nutter stated that it was good for the city to be healed from bitterness as a closure of the incident.
He was glad to see that the men and women in blue were all there to stand with the family amidst these hard times.
Lorenzo’s son, Brian commented that his father had been talking about bleeding blue. It was his way of showing pride of his colleagues. Brian said that they were absolutely amazing.
The family of Officer Lorenzo says they will need this support in the coming months as the criminal case against Leck will be brought into the court system.
Officer Lorenzo’s friends pledged that they will be with the family all the way.
